Chemically inert, non-toxic and capable of withstanding a wide range of temperatures, our fluoropolymer tubing is corrosion-resistant and non-oxidizing, and is unaffected by solvents, acids and fuels. Saint-Gobain offers a variety of high performance elastomer tubings that can be used in high and low temperature extremes in a variety of markets – most often in peristaltic pumps. These tubings are offered in industrial grade, food grade and braid reinforced for higher pressure resistance. Saint-Gobain offers two classes of tubing material, dependent upon the properties that our customers require – thermoset elastomers, which have superior recovery properties when deformed by compression or stretching, and thermoplastic elastomers, which can be melt processed and have longer pump life and strength.
Saint-Gobain’s thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) are a specific sub-class of elastomer that achieve softness by utilizing alternating blocks of hard and soft segments. Saint-Gobain’s TPU formulations are characterized by their clarity, abrasion resistance, and high pressure ratings, as well as fuel, oil, and fat tryglyceride resistance. Formulations come in both Ether and Ester types and can comply with both FDA and NSF-61 regulations and standards.
